Future Educator

The Pathway

Through a partnership with the University of Colorado Denver School of Education & Human Development, we are pleased to add a dual enrollment pathway for high school students who want to be future teachers/educators. These courses should transfer into degree programs for early childhood, elementary, or special education pathways (varies by college). Students will have an opportunity to participate in a field experience and gain up to 24 college credits through UCD.

Courses can be taken together in a sequence over two years, or students can opt into a single course (however, Lifespan Development and Field Experience must be taken concurrently). With successful completion of Field Experience in Year 1, students can opt into an additional Field Experience (Internship) in year 2 for .5 elective credit. None of the courses have prerequisites.

Applications for the 24-25 school year are now closed
If space is available in a specific pathway we will reopen the application after April 1st, for a 2nd round of application submissions.
