A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTORS:
No day is ever the same at Legacy Campus, and we are moving at full speed getting ready for the fall. Building inspections, removing the remaining wildlife, scheduling students into classes, hosting staff meetings/trainings, collaborating with colleges/universities, and setting up new equipment are just a few things going on here in preparation for our students to have incredible opportunities. We just welcomed 400 new students at our first Orientation Nights. CNA and EMT students will be ordering their new scrubs and uniforms, culinary students will be getting their aprons, and future educator students are being placed into local DCSD elementary schools for their field experience. The UCAN (University of Colorado Accelerated Nursing Program) began their college cohort classes May 1, and ACC is currently setting up their newly relocated robotics lab. We are about to hang the Cessna 150 plane that was donated from Metro State University in the new Aviation Sim Lab, and simulators and laser-cutting machines are being installed in the labs. We were able to donate many fossils and museum pieces to our local DCSD schools so they can be reused in science classrooms and learning spaces all around the school district. Our new SRO office and security kiosk are also being finished. The kitchen equipment has been updated and the Cafe has recently been certified as open for business! Before we know it, we will be welcoming students back from summer break for our Back to School Open House in August.
