A Letter to Our Community

Dr Rex Corr

Dear Students, Families, and Partners,

Welcome to the Legacy Campus—a place where we connect passion to pathway. As a central offering for Career and Technical Education for Douglas County School District, Legacy is designed to connect students with real-world learning experiences, advanced coursework, and direct partnerships with colleges and industry leaders. Our mission is simple: to ensure students graduate with both workforce readiness and a competitive advantage for their future.

In just two short years, Legacy has grown into a thriving center of innovation and opportunity. We have launched pathways in health sciences, hospitality and culinary arts, aviation, cybersecurity, robotics, and more. Our students have earned industry-recognized certifications, excelled in state-level competitions, and engaged in internships and projects that connect classroom learning with professional practice. In that time, Legacy students have also earned nearly 7,900 credits of concurrent- and dual-enrollment college credit from multiple institutions, resulting in more than $2.5 million in tuition savings for Legacy families. At the same time, we have strengthened relationships with higher education institutions and local employers, creating an environment where students can begin building their careers before graduation.

As we enter the 2025–2026 school year, our work continues with even greater momentum. This year, Legacy will expand opportunities in advanced manufacturing, automotive technology (with emphasis on electric and hybrid vehicles), construction trades, and electrical trades—opening doors to some of the most in-demand career fields in our region. We will also deepen our partnerships with colleges and industry to ensure our students have access to the most relevant skills, technology, and experiences available. Above all, we remain committed to empowering every student to explore their interests, discover their strengths, and take confident steps toward their future.

Thank you for your support and partnership in making Legacy Campus a place where students not only dream about what’s next, but actively prepare for it. Together, we are building pathways that will serve our community, our workforce, and our world for years to come.

With gratitude,

Dr. Rex Corr
