Message From the Directors

Spring brings with it much anticipation for summer and several celebrations of a year well spent. This May, we will host our first annual Legacy Campus Awards & Pinning Night where we will celebrate exemplary students in each pathway and students who have earned industry certifications. Additionally, we are honored to host several district-wide celebrations such as graduations, the DCSD Apple Awards, retirement celebrations, district art shows and video awards, and more!

We will also be welcoming in a few hundred new students as we build rosters for next year's classes. We have had an overwhelming number of student applications and are busy reviewing counselor recommendations and student responses. We will also have many students who will roll into the second year of our pathway classes which are being built as extensions of the learning they have accomplished this year. We are happy to report significant growth in each of our pathways and great student representation from across the district! Stay tuned for information on our orientation nights in late April and steps students will need to complete before heading off for the summer.

We are also looking for a few energetic parents to share their students' successes at the DCSD Legacy Campus with other parents. Please see the link below and help us spread the word about opportunities for students while in high school. You can also see (below) that the district is spreading the word about the Colorado ASCENT Program which includes college tuition for free for qualifying seniors. They will be holding an informational night at Legacy next week and we highly encourage families to attend and learn more.

Culinary visit to FreshPoint

Our culinary classes took a trip to FreshPoint Denver Produce Company. They learned about food safety, different growing regions, the affects of weather and climate changes, how the food gets from farm to customer. The students were able to tour the facility to learn about storage and the ripening process.

Architecture Bridge Building

Architecture students designed and built bridges with popsicle sticks and glue guns then tested them for strength by seeing how much weight each bridge could hold.

Aviation Visit to Centennial

The aviation students were recently able to tour the Centennial Air Traffic Control Tower. During the visit they were shown equipment needed to safely control aircraft in and out of one of the busiest airports in the country.

We'd Love Your Feedback!

Parents! Now that we have completed our first official semester, we are asking for your feedback on various aspects of our programming. Please take 2-3 minutes to provide your input using this LINK. We appreciate it!

Mandatory Orientation Nights

Newly Accepted Students for the 24-25 school year will be required to attend one of our Orientation Nights on April 29th or 30th. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend. Returning students only need to attend if enrolled in a new pathway. More information will be included in student acceptance letters in late March.

FCCLA Fundraiser Success

Legacy Campus FCCLA students worked together to bake, decorate, package and sell sugar cookies on Valentine's Day to raise money for charity. Our FCCLA club includes students from both the Culinary and Future Educator pathways. They were able to raise nearly $400 that was donated to Colorado Children's Hospital.

We would love to hear testimonials from the parents of our students! Please sign up here https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C49AFAA29ABF94-47933792-legacy#/
